About Velum Lux

The Club

Velum Lux is a gaming community. It is managed and administrated by the Veilarch, Jacob Bianchi.

We officially support a multitude of games, with more being added regularly. The goal of this club is to bring together a small community of like-minded gamers in order to actualize the full potential of today's cooperative and competitive gaming opportunities and have as much fun as possible while doing it!

The History

​

Velum Lux was created on June 24, 2014 shortly after Destiny's First Look Alpha. After remaining a small Destiny-only clan for two years, Smite was introduced on June 21, 2016 as the clan's second officially supported game. A year and a half after adding Smite, the structure changed to allow for a multitude of games to be officially supported, and a more modular approach to the clan and its members is now being taken.

The Lore

​

Literally, "Velum Lux" means "Veil/Paper, Light" in Latin. However, the clan's usage translates more accurately to "Light's Veil." It is meant to imply that we, as a clan, are the barrier between the light and the dark, the good and the bad, and order and chaos. It is a symbolic name which means that we stand to monitor the balance in the cosmos and to preserve the notion that everything has a place to exist.

From an outsider's perspective, it might seem like we favor order over disorder; instead, we logically must use the stability that order allows for the sake of effectiveness. After all, resembling agents of discord would certainly not allow us to remain an effective group with a single-minded purpose, much less so if that purpose is to maintain balance.
